Last week, we talked a little about Old Mill Heritage Day, a special event that celebrated the history and culture of the Great Smoky Mountains. If you missed out on that, you'll get another chance this weekend to experience a similar immersion into the days of yesteryear. The 21st Annual Robert A. Tino Smoky Mountain Homecoming, October 5 and 6, takes visitors back to simpler times, when the farm was the center of family life.
Taking place at Sunset View Farm in Sevierville, the home of noted artist Robert A. Tino's studio, this nostalgic weekend features regional crafts people dressed in period attire who are passionate about sustaining and preserving the area's arts and crafts heritage. Look for displays of jewelry, baskets, pottery, iron works, quilt making and more. The event also features old-time bluegrass music, storytelling and delicious barbecue that you can enjoy under a shade tree.
Kids' activities include wagon rides, a petting zoo, face painting, pony rides, pumpkin picking and old-fashioned kids' games. And if you're staying in one of our Sevierville cabins, you'll be just a few minutes away from all the fun, games and good times.

About Leif Palmer
Leif Palmer loves residing in the Smoky Mountains. He is an avid outdoorsman: rowing for exercise on the lake, trail hiking, and free climbing rocks in the mountains. He indulges his arty side by periodically beating up pieces of marble by sculpting. He is always frustrated by his inability to sink long putts, and hates his curly hair (but his wife loves it). Leif has been known to muster enough courage to change a diaper, and hopes his son will become a chip off the old block.
