September is not only the time when the kids go back to school and football season starts. It's also a great time to be a car lover in the Great Smoky Mountains. That's because three different custom-auto events are taking place in our towns throughout the month. Here's a quick overview of events you might be interested in attending if you're staying at one of our cabins in Sevierville, TN or Pigeon Forge, TN.
Shades of the Past Hot Rod Roundup XXXI, September 6 and 7 – This rod run will take place at Dollywood's Splash Country in Pigeon Forge. Custom-auto owners will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes.
Fall Pigeon Forge Rod Run, September 12 through 15 – Although the hotel itself will be closed during the event, it will still take place at the Grand Resort Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. This event showcases cars of all years, models and makes, including street-legal racecars.
About Leif Palmer
Leif Palmer loves residing in the Smoky Mountains. He is an avid outdoorsman: rowing for exercise on the lake, trail hiking, and free climbing rocks in the mountains. He indulges his arty side by periodically beating up pieces of marble by sculpting. He is always frustrated by his inability to sink long putts, and hates his curly hair (but his wife loves it). Leif has been known to muster enough courage to change a diaper, and hopes his son will become a chip off the old block.
